We are now pleased to announce some new clinic dates with John Bowen early December - in conjunction with Flawborough Equine. Please have a look at our Clinics page for all the details and how to book.
We were thrilled to see Albecyn Charlie Boy featured in last weeks Horse and Hound for winning at the BSPS Summer Championships - he looks amazing! For those of you that remember Charlie he was the sweetest horse and always a pleasure to have around. There is more on his background under the Success Stories page. Many thanks to Horse and Hound for allowing us to feature the article.
We are pleased to announce a clinic date with JP Sheffield in conjunction with Flawborough Equine. Please see our Clinics page for more details and how to book. JP is an inspirational trainer and is happy to teach all levels. We hope to be able to run a series of training days with him over the winter season too Well after getting well and truly caught up in Olympic fever over the last couple of months I'm finding myself not sure what I ever watched on TV before! I was lucky enough to get down to Greenwich for some of the equestrian action and it was totally amazing - well done team GB on such huge successes! Spring is doing really well and little Blue is very quickly turning into a superstar. He has been XC schooling with his big sister and made it clear that he didn't need any assistance or nannying from her! There are new pictures of him on the Horses for Sale page and the picture above shows how cute they are together. Now the weather seems to have settled down a bit we will be out and about at some competitions so keep visiting to find out how we are getting on! After a quick visit to Ireland last week we have a new resident at Claypole Equestrian! He is a 4yr old registered Connemara gelding, grey dun - really cute! Follow his progress here, we think he's really exciting :)
It certainly feels like summer and we are all enjoying it! It is certainly great to be able to crack on with all the jobs that the rain put on hold. Tommy has been out to his first BS show and thrilled us all by coming 2nd in a big class at British Novice - what a star! He took it all in his stride and found it easy. He will make fairly swift progress up the grades I feel. Not to be outdone by her older brother, Spring has been coming on leaps and bounds and her flatwork has really developed in both balance and power - as you can see from the photo she has really muscled up. Her jumping is coming easy to her and she is very bold - nothing phases her and she doesn't know the meaning of the word 'spooky'! She is going to be a fantastic horse for a competitive amateur as she has a fabulous temperament and is uncomplicated to do - but really talented with it. She has been XC schooling and was totally un-phased - hoping to take her again this weekend. Enjoy the good weather! X We are all enjoying the lo this week - it's been glorious! The ponies are thoroughly enjoying the sun on their backs and they have also been very well behaved. Tommy has been out to a combined training competition and scored a 36 dressage and clear showjumping, and Spring has been out to her first show to do some dressage. She was so well behaved and it was quite busy - but she didn't bat an eyelid at anything. She did two classes and scored 63% and 64% and was placed in both. First time out and she came home with ribbons - what a star!
Finally winter seems to be on the way out and the milder weather and longer days are slowly arriving. The great news is that we can crack on with the yard and we now have the walker installed - yay! It looks great, and we are just waiting for the flooring to go in and we'll be able to use it - there is a photo on the 'Facilities' page.
Tommy and Spring are going really well and I'm so pleased with the progress they are both making - having the arena to work in through the winter was a godsend, but we did also get out hacking regularly as we are lucky to have lots of nice wide verges on the lanes. We are all enjoying the spring sunshine though! |
