Some of our success stories.....
Please have a look at some of the horses I have produced over the last few years, some photos, a little bit about them and what they are up to now. Not all of the horses I have produced have an 'Albecyn' prefix. The ones that have, have been registered with one or more of the affiliated disciplines.
Albecyn Just Stanley
Stanley was found locally to sell on behalf of a client. I soon realised how much potential he had, so quickly decided to buy him for myself! Although Stan was only 14.2hh and 4 years old, I knew he would make a top class competition pony. Stan had a fantastic jump and flashy paces and soon clocked up BD points. He also gained several wins and placings at unaffilated horse trials before being sold. Stan was sold to a competent child who successfully competed him up to FEI Pony Trials and BS.
Albecyn Campino II
I bought Poppy from my farrier who had bred her himself. She had been backed but was very sharp. She was a very willing and kind mare but also very sensitive. I spent a long time on her basic education, gaining her confidence and taking small steps which reaped huge rewards. Poppy really blossomed and become confident and relaxed. With her lovely active hindleg she soon gained BD points and I successfully competed her at BE80 and BE90 before being sold to a teenage girl to event. They have had several placings at both BE90 and BE100 and are now preparing to move up to Novice.
Albecyn Charlie Boy
Charlie was found as a 4 year old in Ireland. Right from the start Charlie was the yard favourite - a super temperament and a willingness to learn. His flatwork quickly became very correct and obedient, and he loved his jumping - the spookier the better! Although I felt that working hunter would be his forte, Charlie did several BYEH classes gaining one of the top scores for his jumping style. Charlie also did a BE80 with me and an unaffiliated BE90. He was very straightforward, and when he was advertised he was sold within 24 hours to the first family to view him. His new owners are having a lot of fun with him and he has proved to be particularly successful in Intermediate Working Hunter classes - an all round superstar! He has had several high profile wins and appeared in Horse and Hound after winning at the BSPS Championships - the article is below.
Many thanks to Horse and Hound for allowing us to reproduce the article.
Albecyn Sea you Tuesday
I found Declan as a 16.1hh 4 year old in Ireland. He was very eyecatching and smart - a true event type. He was well thought of by my trainers for both flatwork and jumping. He competed in unaffiliated dressage and eventing before I registered him BE - where he gained his first foundation point jumping a cracking double clear round his first BE90. He was sold to a knowledgable PC family where he has continued his education and qualified for the PC eventing champs. The pair have now started to event at BE100 with JRN's in mind for next season.
Monalee Puzzle
Puzzle came from Ireland as a 4 year old. A real gentleman who was definately an old head on young shoulders. He proved to be obedient and completely reliable with super natural paces. He did a bit of everything with us, including a couple of days hunting which he thoroughly enjoyed. He is now with a lovely family where he is training with Ulrik Muulgaard ready to embark on his BD career.
Spring Kings Master
Spring was purchased in Ireland by me as an unbacked 3 year old. She made 16.1hh as a 5yr old and was by Grange Bouncer out of a mare by Crosstown Dancer (Grand dam by Forties Field). A very pretty girl, Spring quickly became the yard favourite and turned her hoof to anything. She did a bit of everything with me including a BE80(T) before being sold to a lovely lady in April 2013. As you can see from the photo she has settled in very well and is already out winning rosettes! She has been placed at a dressage show and in a Working Hunter class and is now off to progress her eventing career. We are thrilled that she is giving her new owner so much pleasure, and so quickly!
Ryehill Blackey
Geoff was purchased in Ireland as a just backed 4yr old. 16hh black ISH gelding by Ryehill Furisto out of an ISH mare by Cougar II, he was super smart with a lovely attitude.
Geoff did a bit of everything with us and did very well at the dressage shows he went to - the judges loved him! He also had a lovely technique over a fence and was very brave. In July 2013 he went to a lovely home to continue his education and we look forward to keeping up with his progress.

Albecyn Vice Versa
Buzz was purchased by us in Ireland as a 5yr old. 16.0hh (2008) ISH, classy looking gelding by Puissance. Lovely easy going chap with a super jump and smart flatwork.
Buzz did some British Dressage with us scoring up to 74%, he also did a bit of eventing very succesfully - a 26 dressage and double clear at only his second event. We were sorry to see him go, but his new owner is thrilled with him and we look forward to following his progress.

Lissycasey Gold
We bought Terry 16hh ISH in Ireland as a 5yr old. It quickly became apparent that this lovely chap had a real talent for dressage and so we produced him with that job in mind. He was super easy to do and was brilliant to hack - we used him to nanny the 3/4 yr olds!
We sold Terry to Lucy at the end of 2016 and they have gone on to have great success at BD competitions. They have already amassed 80 BD points and we are looking forward to watching them progress up the levels.
Below is a lovely report from Horse & Hound following their recent win at Eland Lodge.

It is always nice to follow the horses careers when they have moved on to their new owners. I am lucky to receive regular updates on their progress.
